For a first-time boxing promoter, Matt Rose has done a pretty good job.
Sam Ah-See, Olympian Cameron Hammond and the multi-talented celebrity Lauryn Eagle will all be in action tonight and Rose admits he has enjoyed setting up what should be a great night for Dubbo.
"It's been a good experience," he said. "And obviously in a place like Dubbo it's good have these kind of events.
"A lot of people don't get the chance to see the likes of Lauryn Eagle fight in our own backyard and you won't get the card we've got tomorrow night anywhere else. These fighters are all on main-events in Sydney so to have them in Dubbo is pretty good thing to come and watch.
"Obviously we've got some really good fights," Rose said.
"The only down point is Damien Hooper had to pull out so that was a bit unlucky there but we've still got a great card."
Rose admitted he was most excited by the opportunity to see Ah-See continue his rise through the ranks when he takes on Arnel Tinampay of the Philippines in what should be a thrilling main event.
"It's the event that will decide where Sam is going for the future and maybe an Australian Title and Arnel is a tough opponent, he's never been stopped before and he's very experienced," he said.
While Rose said the Ah-See bout is shaping up as the pick of the night he said all fights will be worth watching.
"Lauryn (Eagle) obviously a massive drawcard, she's on the semi-main event so that will be great and Cameron Hammond is an Olympian and he's going to be in for a tough tussle as well," he said.
"There's also a local Orange boxer, Benny Fitz, and the other fight features Renold Quinlan, an up-and-comer.
"It's shaping up as a good event and there's a lot of talk around town and if you haven't got your ticket yet you need to get in quick," he said.
"Because you can't beat it. We've got Naughty by Nature and they're coming straight to Dubbo and they're going to be at the event and performing at the afterparty as well."
Rose had originally planned to bring a number of NRL stars, including his brother George and Souths' star Nathan Merritt, out for the night but with Manly and South Sydney involved in semi-final action tonight he was unable to do so. He has however tried to organise some more big names to join what is an already stellar cast.
"Obviously our main two drawcards were in Manly and Souths and they're both playing tomorrow night," he said. "But I just got onto Benny Barba so trying to see if he'll come out here but unfortunately with Manly and Souths playing each other we missed out on five or six NRL players coming out for the night."
With a lineup featuring a host of big names, and the possibility of more, Rose went on to say it's an event everyone in Dubbo should get behind.
"It's shaping up as a good event and there's a lot of talk around town and if you haven't got your ticket yet you need to get in quick," he said.
