The Dubbo North Public School girls' hockey team have progressed into the semi-finals of the NSW PSSA hockey knockout after a big win in the quarter-finals.
The team, accompanied by coaches Deb Williams and Deb Brown and manager Jemma Harding, travelled to Wagga Wagga last Monday to play Forest Hill Public School in the round of eight.
The girls were accommodated in the school hall on the Monday night and enjoyed the hospitality of the Forest Hill team.
The game started at 10am and Dubbo North were quickly on the scoreboard leading 2-0 after just a couple of minutes. They continued to play exciting and adventurous hockey and took a 5-0 lead into half time.
The flow of play continued in the second half with North running out eventual winners 11-0. Phoebe Bloink-Hollier scored eight goals and the rest were shared between the team.
Lilli Campbell was again outstanding in goal and all girls contributed to the win.
In five games the girls have racked up an impressive 31 goals while not conceding a single goal, a testament to their defence and growing confidence as a team.
The girls now travel to Narellan in Sydney on September 10 to participate in the state semi-finals and hopefully finals.
Thanks to all the parents for making the trip to Wagga and to everyone else for the support the team has received.

Thursday, September 12, is the date set down for NAIDOC at Dubbo North.
An invitation is extended to the entire school community to come and help us celebrate the contributions made by Australia's Indigenous community.
Students will be having their faces painted in ochre, cooking Johnny cakes, participating in Indigenous games, painting murals and lots of other culturally-based activities.
A barbecue lunch will be provided and it would be great to see a big roll up to celebrate this special day.
