Former Greens leader Bob Brown, fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld and director David Lynch are among the eclectic roster of contributors Oyster magazine has assembled for its 100th issue. To celebrate 18 years of independent magazine publishing in Australia, Oyster recruited 100 people from around the world to contribute their interpretation of the theme ''dream'' for the landmark issue on sale tomorrow.
Actor James Franco has taken photos for the issue, Lynch has contributed an interview and Lagerfeld has explained what role dreams play in his design process, for what sounds like an intriguing concept from an industry survivor.
''Obviously the last few years have been challenging for print publishing,'' Oyster publisher Monica Nakata says. ''[But] with the greater industry changes, our key focus for some time now has been on digital and we have experienced exponential growth in this area.''
