TERM 3 has gotten off to a flying start at Dubbo North Public School with all students returning refreshed after a relaxing mid-year break.
Students have been engaged in literacy and numeracy sessions and have completed research tasks in other areas of the curriculum.
All classes have visited the computer room and students are very excited about the 27 brand new computers available for them to use.
Hip hop is the sport for this term and all classes will enjoy a 40-minute session in the school hall at an allocated time during Fridays.
Students will also be participating in district and regional sports, visiting shows, academic testing and excursions so term 3 will no doubt be another productive and exciting term at North.
Last week the school received a visit from the Royal Far West speech pathology team and their mobile clinic as part of the Come 'n See program.
This program delivers a speech pathology program via computer which we would otherwise be unable to access, and we receive a visit once a semester from the clinicians to assess and review students.
This is a terrific program which assists our students to develop their skills in this area.
Week three, July 29 to August 2, is Book Week at Dubbo North Public School and Mrs Campbell is busily preparing the library for a massive week.
The theme this year is space and the library is being transformed into a dark and mysterious place where students will be participating in loads of fun activities and adventures.
Wednesday is our annual book fair and parade (orbit) which will begin at 12pm and involve a parade of staff and students in spacey outfits with the opportunity for parents and community members to purchase books for their children's enjoyment and to support the school.
The whole school community is invited to attend so leave Wednesday, July 31 vacant and come and enjoy a spacey day at Dubbo North Public School.
