PALLETS loaded with bags of Brumby’s baking flour has gone up in smoke this afternoon following a truck fire on the Newell Highway north of Dubbo.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 2.15pm today after the B-double caught alight.
The driver was not injured in the incident though the prime mover was written off in the incident.
The road was closed for half an hour before one lane was reopened with alternating stop/slow traffic conditions in place.
Traffic was backed up for over a kilometre on either side of the incident, with holiday makers and truck drivers stuck on the road.
Drivers were earlier advised to use alternate routes with southbound traffic diverted at Eumungerie Road to Narromine and northbound traffic was detoured to Brocklehurst and Mendooran Road.
Motorists travelling through the area are still advised to allow additional travel time.
