A spokesman from the department said the minister had asked for a briefing on the events that occurred over the weekend in Dubbo.
"The Minister has visited the estate on a number of occasions with local member Troy Grant," he said.
"On coming into government, Ms Goward established an action group led by Mr Grant, with an aim to explore all viable options for improving outcomes within Apollo Estate."
He said the next step of the action group would be to assign responsibilities to participating agencies to develop specific responses to the recommended strategies.
"People who have information should also contact local police," the spokesman said.
