In case you have not thought this through councillors, Dubbo is a long drive from the closest major city. When haven't you driven back from Sydney arrived at Orange or Mudgee and wished you did not have a further hour and a half left to drive to Dubbo. And we are the lucky ones, what if you live west of Dubbo?

I choose to live in Dubbo. I am fortunate I can afford to choose to fly to Sydney for business, to see family and for pleasure.
I have always supported both Qantas and Rex as I am very aware of the importance to have two airlines servicing Dubbo with a choice of departure and arrival times and maintaining healthy competition and affordable airfares.
Rex might not offer all the bells and whistles but it gets us there safely within an hour and home again. If council forces Rex's decision to reduce flights in and out of Dubbo and fares increase by the imposition of unnecessary screening, let's face it, whether you can afford it or not most Dubbo people would be very hesitant to spend $700 for a return air fare to Sydney.
Sadly then Dubbo has one less positive reason for professional families to call Dubbo home. Don't be afraid to admit you got this wrong councillors.
