Dubbo Show Society president Marty Morris said his organisation needed all hands on board to feed almost 3000 people.
Mr Morris said the committee quickly realised they did not have enough volunteers.
As soon as the Dubbo Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) support group knew help was needed they quickly put their gloves on and started to feed the scouts who passed through Dubbo on the way to and from Queensland.
"They thought they would do it free of charge but we decided to give them a donation in return," Mr Morris said.
The Dubbo RFDS support group president Terry Clark thanked Mr Morris for presenting him with a $1500 cheque.
"They called out for help for a one-day event and we just helped and loved the experience," he said.
"It shows the true community spirit that we help one another."
Mr Clark said the donation was a great help and would go a long way to helping the Dubbo RFDS.
