Hargreaves has confirmed that registrations for the men's and women's competitions will be held next Tuesday night from 6pm at Dubbo Sports World Stadium.
There is also an annual meeting coming up and State League training ahead of the 2013 series that will see the Dubbo Rams men back in action, along with the women.
"Everything is shaping up well but there's plenty of work to be done," he said.
"To start the season, we are hoping for really good nominations for the senior competitions and anyone who isn't in a team is welcome to come along and register and we'll find a team for you."
The competitions will be played each Tuesday night - starting on February 5 - at the stadium with the first games at 6pm. The draw for each week will be available on the Dubbo Basketball website.
Hargreaves said unfortunately there has to be a new president for the association with Bart Sykes not seeking re-election.
"Unfortunately Bart has accepted a work position at Tennant Creek and will soon be relocating," Hargreaves said.
"He's done a great job over the past year and it's a shame that we will lose his direction. We wish him well.
"All positions on the board will be open and we urge anyone interested in being involved to come along to the annual meeting being held on March 11 from 7pm at the Western Star Hotel."
Positions on the board are president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, junior and senior directors, State League director and sponsorship and fundraiser director. The move to enter both teams in State League this year is a good one for Dubbo Basketball.
A few of the players have already been training but official preparations will start next Thursday from 6.30pm at the Dubbo Christian School gym.
"I ask that anyone interested in committing to the State League program to come along," Peter Hargreaves said.
"Unfortunately we didn't have a men's side last year but that's going to happening this year, along with the women.
"We need to have a progression for our younger men and women and the State League offers that opportunity.
"Dubbo Rams failed to make the play-offs in the women's pool last year but we have been involved in two grand finals over the past five years, so there is always motivation to do well again."
