About 3pm yesterday officers observed 35-year-old Peter James Rowley in a vehicle on the Castlereagh Highway, but he was able to evade officers, and ran on foot into the bush.
When last seen he was approximately 15km north of Coonamble on the Castlereagh Highway.
He has several outstanding warrants for serious domestic violence related offences and is believed to have access to at least two firearms.
Currently a ground and land search is underway in the area but police have warned members of the public not to approach Mr Rowley but to contact police immediately on triple zero (000).
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall with a solid build and mostly shaven head with a mullet style haircut and is heavily tattooed.
Peter Rowley has a distinctive long red goatee beard which may have been trimmed and is 35-years-old. He was wearing a dark coloured shirt and it is believed his right arm is bandaged.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged not to approach him, but to contact police immediately on triple zero.
