A YOUNG woman has been taken to hospital after she was hit by a car in West Dubbo.

Emergency services converged on the corner of North and Alfred streets yesterday afternoon following reports of a possible hit and run.
Police said a male driver left the scene in a dark green or dark blue car before emergency services arrived.
The car was last seen travelling in an eastbound direction along Alfred Street towards Victoria Street.
The woman's injuries were not believed to have been life-threatening.
An investigation is under way into the incident.
At the time of going to press, the vehicle had not been located.
Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to contact police.
