Many raised funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health, and others grew a mo to amuse friends and family.
It seemed everywhere you looked in November, moustaches of all shapes, sizes and colours were about.
Some registered through website www.movember.com, starting with a clean-shaven face.
Throughout the month they then groomed, trimmed and waxed their way into the annals of fine moustachery.
Supported by the women in their lives, mo sistas, Movember mo bros raised funds by seeking out sponsorship for their mo-growing efforts.
The Mailbox Shopper, in conjunction with the Daily Liberal, searched far and wide and found 50 very impressive mos for our (and your) amusement.
Five members of the editorial team at the Daily Liberal and Western Magazine donned a mo, much to the amusement of their work colleagues.
Our local Orana Local Area Command police officers jumped on the Movember bandwagon, and after their photos were taken endured days, if not weeks, of laughter from their comrades at the police station.
The men of Blackwoods in Dubbo got involved in Movember because of employee Scott Meloni, who wanted to raise money and awareness as part of a branch challenge.
They all agreed it was a "bit of fun" and it was all for a good cause.
Nathan Griffith, from PRD Nationwide, said he had been trying to grow a mo for a few years, but it then “grew ranga”.
“Once I realised it was ginger, I decided to grow it anyway. My wife just laughs at me but it’s all for a good cause,” he said.
The Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service workers on Bultje Street were competing with the Mental Health Inpatient team at Dubbo Base Hospital to see who could grow the best mo.
Led by health promotions officer David Honeysett, the Bultje Street team committed to growing their best mos and raised $3500, $1500 shy of their $5000 goal.
“It’s a good team-building exercise, and a bit of friendly competition with the Inpatient team,” Mr Honeysett said.
The winner of the competition will be announced on Sunday at a special event at Players Paintball at Dubbo.
Tim Lenord, estimator of AKE Electrical and Data Installations, raised $300 specifically for prostate cancer.
In 2011, more than 854,000 mo bros and mo sistas around the world got on board, raising A$124 million.
