Job Description
The role of The Australian Financial Review's Photographic Editor is to drive the photographic agenda in digital and print, by delivering the most newsworthy and engaging pictures each day.
Day to day you will:
The Photo editor, who is based in Sydney, must be well informed about the daily news agenda to ensure the sourcing of high quality photographs from important news events and stories. They will work closely with section editors, designers and reporters.
The Photo Editor will rely not only on the images available from the Financial Review’s photographers but will also be ready to seek out images from other sources in Australia and globally for immediate use online and for print. They will oversee the operations of the AFR picture desk. A keen news sense, a team orientated approach, the ability to perform under pressure and visual talent are all essential in this role.
