Steven Ryan entered Dubbo Local Court already facing a charge of sexual intercourse without consent.
The young man muttered to himself with his eyes closed after he sat in the dock.
Police prosecutor Mark Harris said there were no additional charges but still opposed bail.
Ryan’s solicitor told the court the man, who now lives in Newcastle, was in Dubbo to pick up a car that had just been repaired.
Magistrate Andrew Eckhold said it was a serious breach but understood difficulties the situation may have presented to Ryan.
“It’s a limitation on a young man, not being allowed to go into a pub,” he said.
The magistrate said Ryan needed to look at his use of alcohol and varied some bail conditions.
Ryan was ordered not to enter Dubbo at all unless for court purposes and to
continue to reside in and report to police at Newcastle.
Bail was granted and he will reappear in court on April 18.
