Dubbo resident, Wally Flynn remembers her visit to Dubbo on February 21, 1992, arriving at the airport and the greeting from former mayor, the late Tony McGrane.
Mr Flynn admires the dedication and grace with which she served the commonwealth.
“My wife and I believe in the monarch and think that she’s a real lady.”
When he recalled the day, Mr Flynn said that it was wonderful to follow the Queen’s visit to Dubbo and capture it in these photos.
“When we heard she was coming, my wife and I went out to the airport,” Mr Flynn said.
“I then followed her visit to a school in Myall Street and got some photos before heading back to the airport to see her off.”
He also recalled seeing the then Princess during her visit to Australia on February 9, 1954.
“I was just a 13-year-old, living in Barraba and my sisters and I went on a bus to see her in Newcastle,” Mr Flynn said.
“We sat for six hours to see her.
“It was a real thrill.”
Princess Elizabeth II also visited Dubbo on February 10, 1954.
