On Sunday night the voices and bells will ring out at Dubbo’s Carols By Candlelight.
The annual event organised by the Rotary Club of Dubbo West promises to put the city’s families in the mood for Christmas with lots of old favourites.
Rotarian Malcolm Cockrum said everything was prepared for a wonderful night - food, drink, candles and glowsticks.
“And we think Mother Christmas is coming,” he said.
Mr Cockrum, who has organised the carols event for about seven years, had no trouble in declaring Hark the Herald Angels Sing his favourite.
He invited the people of Dubbo to find their most-loved carols in the official program, included in the Weekend Liberal.
The gates of Victoria Park No 1 Oval will open at 6pm and entry is free.
Audiences will be treated to gymnastic displays and concert music before the carols start at 7pm.
Characters in costumes from Dubbo Theatre Company’s recent production of Narnia will hand out sparklers.
This year there will be an added attraction - trike rides.
Rotarian Peter Judd will have the trikes available for the public to ride at the oval from 5pm onwards.
He will conduct the rides as a fundraiser for the Dubbo Base Hospital neo-natal unit.
