Dubbo apprentice Jake Pracey-Holmes followed his winning treble at Dubbo on Melbourne Cup Day with an all-the-way win on Old Gold in the Ray White Rural Benchmark 50 Handicap (1200 metres at Warren).

Shooting to a big lead in the straight the Terry Fahey, Dubbo trained Old Gold (6.00) held on to score by over two lengths from Spartan Law (Greg Ryan, 6.00) and Mana Lane (Ken Dunbar, 15.00).
Jeremy Hammond, apprenticed to Jim McMillan at Wellington who won on Cash Reserve for his “boss” at the Orange Melbourne Cup Day meeting backed up to win the Auscott Benchmark 55 Handicap (1400 metres) at Warren for Coonamble trainer Peter Finn.
Convent Hill (4.60) set the pace and battled hard to defeat Ideal Position (Kody Nestor, 2.40 fav) by a short half-head with Kalkie Miss (Daniel Northey, 41.00) running third.
Another apprentice, Daniel Northey, also had a win on the Phillip Ayoub, Coonabarabran trained Maskhara in the NM Owen Maiden Handicap (1000 metres).
Ridden close to the pace, Maskhara (6.00), a cast off from the Gai Waterhouse stable at Randwick, finished best to defeat Peking Style.
An eye-catching third was Atomic Blaze (Rachael Murray, 7.50) which is trained at Coonabarabran by Mick Cox.

At the third run back from a short break, the Barry Molloy, Forbes trained Royal Society was primed for a good performance in the Menzies Irrigation Benchmark 60 Handicap (1000 metres) at Warren. After sharing the lead to the home turn, Royal Society (Joe Galea, 9.00) kicked away for an impressive two-lengths win over Red Ensign (Mathew Cahill, 7.00) and I Love Legs (Greg Ryan, 3.60 fav).
Raced by George Tanks from Parkes, Royal Society has started twice at Warren for two wins over the 1000 metre trip.
Racing at Bathurst (TAB) on Saturday and Dubbo (TAB) on Sunday.
