On Saturday the 27 marker demolished his opposition with a quality card of 39 stableford points and won clearly by three points from Nee Tran-Dinh (19), who gained second place after a countback at the expense of Wayne Basham (24).
Haylock has been a familiar figure on the leaderboard during the summer months. The promising young cricketer is an excellent all round talent and it’s a bonus for the golf club that he spends most of his off season hitting the little white ball around.

A field of 139 players competed for trophies courtesy of Craig Mears and the Central West Golf Centre.
Heavy conditions did bring the scores down, with just 34 points needed to win a golf ball.

There was also a clear cut winner of the B-grade trophy when Andrew Lavelle’s 38 points off 16 held up nicely.
In second place was Phil Shields (15) with 36 after a four-way countback over Grant Fish, Roger Kelly and Maitland visitor Murray Turrell - a 13 marker certainly no stranger to his old home track at Dubbo.

A countback was needed to find the winner in A-grade. That honour went to Narromine’s Duane Mann, who had 37 points off seven handicap.
Andrew Page (11) had to be content with second place but again was pleased with the way he played.
Christian Hampson wasn’t far away with 36 while Jim McDonald; professional David Batten and Graeme Jameson all had 35.

Sunday golf still isn’t a major favourite for members with just 26 players facing the starter in a medley 4BBB stableford on the weekend.
The conditions were great and Rod Firth and Paul Houston were hot.
Playing off 21 and 17 respectively they combined beautifully for a massive 50 points - five ahead of juniors Jones Comerford (26) and Dayne Gardiner (15) with 45.

The cost of paying golf is on the rise after membership renewals landed in the mail box on Monday.
Full membership is now $700, with president Maureen Dempsey telling members that the cost of providing the current facilities at the club are continuing to increase and subscriptions have had to move in line with these costs.
Membership for the ladies is an additional increase, which will continue for the next two years to bring them in line with full membership.
Once this has been achieved there will be a change to the Constitution to provide ladies with full membership rights.
The club will continue with its Direct Debit facilities to spread payment of the fees over the 12 months.
