Phoenix has moved into the Dubbo PCYC to train and to represent the city and PCYC in competitions.
Recently members travelled to Blacktown in Sydney and competed in the PCYC Championships heading up a good field of players.
The team finished fourth out of all the clubs represented.
Leading the way was Brenton Hayes in the under-13s, coming second in a mixed event and first in the graded event. Well done Brenton.
Jesse Macrone was also at his best, winning first place in the under-16s. Again, a great effort.
Anthony Hayes and Kane Macrone stepped into the young men’s divisions with players who were heavier, and did well.
Anthony Hayes was third and Kane Macrone fourth despite having to retire hurt.
Donald Macrone was also at the championships and received his 1 kyu brown belt.
Instructors Les Hayes and Donald Macrone were pleased that the boys did so well and are looking forward to the next competition now to build up on the standings for the PCYC Cup.
Training times at Dubbo PCYC are Monday and Wednesday from 5pm until
late.
