The tournament was a huge success with 98 players taking part in the event.
Players travelled from Sydney, Central Coast, Tamworth, Mudgee, Gosford, Inverell, Cessnock, Newcastle, Wangaratta Victoria, Walcha, Gunnedah, Orange, Lambton, Yandina Queensland, Coonabarabran, Wagga and Bathurst.
A good roll up of local Paramount players also participated to compete for the Doug Sell Memorial Trophy.
Glenn Armstrong was the winner of this trophy by just one point from Wayne Dickinson.
For the ladies Mandy Wells was the winner by two points over Karen Armstrong and Cindy Connelly. Wendy Cox and Gladys Thornbury also faired well and finished the tournament just one point behind Karen and Cindy.
Results of the seniors’ tournament:
Ladies combined doubles group one winners were Narelle Follington (Tamworth) and Carolyn Campbell (Newcastle) with Susie Clapton (Central Coast) and Steph Asprey (Sydney) runner-up.
Group two winners were Carmel Hill (Lake Cargeligo) and Chrissey Johnston (Port Macquarie); runners-up Karen Armstrong and Cindy Connolly (Dubbo).
Group three the winners were Val Angle (Muswellbrook) and Mirene Foster (Coonabarabran); runners-up were Central Coast players Jennifer Fletcher and Betty Light.
Ladies combined singles winner was Narelle Follington who defeated Steph Aspley.
The Combined doubles ladies winners were Wendy Cox and Mandy Wells who defeated Dale Barnes and Robyn Rawlingson all from Dubbo.
In the men’s combined men’s doubles the winners were Dubbo pair Glenn Armstrong and Wayne Dickinson who defeated Wagga pair Hugh O’Brien and Peter Webb the 50 men’s doubles was won by Greg Schoults (Newcastle) and John Dean (Springwood) who defeated Ron Goodman (Cessnock) and Cliff Lorumer Valentine.
The 35 men’s singles winner was Mark O’Brien (Inverell) with Hugh 0’Brien (Wagga) runner-up.
The 60 men’s singles winner was Ken Taylor Berrima) over Ron Goodman (Cessnock).
The 70 men’s doubles was won by Frank Kitchel (Macquarie Fields) and Bruce Huckle (North Epping) with Ross Dunkley (Geurie) and Ken Taylor (Berry).
In the 60-65 men’s doubles the winners were John Wakefield (Oakhurst and Mick Burton (Sydney) with Ian Worland, Orange and Doug Kessell (Forster).
In the men’s 130s doubles the winners were Noel Fraser (Aberdeen) and John Ball (Tamworth); runners-up were Bruce Luckie (North Epping) and Frank Kitcher (Macquarie Hills).
The 120 combined men’s doubles winners were Ivor Reynolds (Yarnina, Queensland) and Paul Fitzgerald (Dubbo) with Mich Bruton (Sydney) and John Wakefield (Oakhurst) runners up.
In the combined men’s doubles group one winners were Dubbo pair Glenn Armstrong and Wayne Dickinson over Wagga pair Peter Webb and Hugh 0’brien.
Group two winners were Tim Foran and Adrian Betts over Ian Worland and Doug Kessell.
Combined mixed doubles group one event was an all Dubbo affair the winners were Robyn Rawlingson and Mick McDonagh over Jan Hall and Wes Marchant.
Group two winners were Wayne Dickinson and Narelle Follington with Mark and Carolyn Campbell runners-up.
Group three winners were Adrian Betts and Mirene Foster with Michael Dunn and Gladys Thornbury.
In the mixed age doubles group one winners were Glenn Armstrong and Alison Seib (Orange). Group two saw a three way tie Ron and Tanya Fletcher (Newcastle), Malcolm Sinclair and Gladys Thornbury (Dubbo) and Noel Frazer and Val Angel (Muswellbrook).

Paramount Tennis Club night competition bye teams for this Thursday is Jetts and the duty team is Aces.
The bye team for next Monday October 27 is Carlton while the duty team for that night is Teddys.
The night competition committee are Monday night Glenn Armstrong, Paul Wells and Wayne Dickinson; Wednesday A2 Mandy Wells, Bruce Witherford and Bruce Gibson and for Thursday B1 grade Gladys Thornbury and Jim Carey.

Paramount Tennis Club’s popular Tuesday ladies tennis is held each week.
Tuesday ladies tennis is open all ladies wishing to play and club membership is not required. Children are most welcome.
A luncheon is held on the last Tuesday of each month.

Paramount Tennis Club courts at both Bultje and Wingewarra streets are available for hire.
Bookings for the hire of the Wingewarra Street courts can be taken at the adjacent Dubbo Bowling Club phone 6882 3619. The Bultje Street courts can be hired by contacting Vicki Bolton on 6882 6975.

The junior club championships will be held at the Wingewarra Street Complex.
The singles will be held on October 26 and the doubles and mixed events will be held on November 2.
Entries to Paul and Lyndall, there will be sheets put up on the club noticeboard in the clubhouse as well. The ages for these events is age as of December 31.
