The only other Duck to win the three was retired police officer Don Tischinko several years ago.
Reg Ferguson posted a double in 2005 and on Sunday, with the Ducks swimming at the 50m olympic pool, John McLean repeated the feat.
He won the 50m breaststroke relay with Mark Scullard, fighting out a great duel with Judy Walsh and Jane Schubert, and the 50m freestyle handicap, again from Schubert in second and Walsh third.
The other winner, with 27 swimmers present, was John Jobson in the 25m freestyle handicap with Andrew Schloeffel second and Walsh again finishing in a minor position, third.
Walsh is the 2007 50m handicap champion for the AIF Australian Championships and the Ducks affectionately call her ‘Madam Butterfly’.
The Ducks welcomed Colin Eastburn’s daughter Anna and her young family.
Happy birthday Lucy Taylor.
On November 10 the transport for Lightning Ridge leaves the RSL ‘yard’ at 9am.
On November 25 the RSL Snooker Club will swim in the morning, followed by lunch and then the Ducks will join them in snooker.
Sunday’s lucky number winners were Ron Everett, Louie Taylor, Roger Mackay and Mike Twohill.
Harbord Diggers visiting Ducks
The Harbord Diggers arrive in Dubbo this Friday for the annual swim at the RSL Indoor Pool on Sunday.
On Saturday there will be a breakfast barbecue at the RSL followed by a walk to Old Dubbo Gaol and then to the Western Plains Cultural Centre with lunch back at the RSL at 1pm.
The main event in the pool on Sunday is the Akka Gee Memorial 25m relay for two swimmers - one from the Ducks and one from Harbord.
Each club has a trophy and winners are engraved on both.
Lunch will be held on the terrace upstairs after the swim.
Ron Soden is the only survivor (still swimming) from the first Harbord trip.
Akka Gee was a World War II pilot who flew DC3 Dakotas.
