In December former West Dubbo lawn bowler David Ferguson will represent his country for the first time after being selected in the Australian under-25 team.

Ferguson, who now plays and works at Engadine, has been selected to skip both the pairs and fours for a three-test series against New Zealand in Christchurch from December 8 to 15.
Ferguson, 23, has been based in Sydney for the past five years and has developed into a leading Premier League player for Engadine and recently competed for NSW under-25s against Victoria and Queensland.
He said the realisation that he was about to play for his country was awesome.
"I've been bowling for about 14 years now and this is definitely the biggest achievement of my career so far," Ferguson said.
"I've won a lot of tournaments and played a lot of great bowlers but to play for my country is awesome.
"I've improved out of sight since moving to Sydney and constantly playing against tough competition. As a young bloke the mental side is always the most challenging but I have learnt a lot and am happy with the way I've been going."
David's father John Ferguson was proud of his son's achievements and said it was a deserved result after years of dedicated training and hard work.
"David has worked pretty hard for this," he said.
"During his time in Sydney he has been going to the NSW Institute of Sport and has been trying to do all the right things.
"He clocks up a lot of kilometres with his bowls."
John Ferguson, a prominent bowler at West Dubbo and for the Western Warriors, has been enjoying his own success after teaming up with Mat and Mick McIntyre to win the Macquarie Triples Championships.
Coincidentally, it was on the same weekend that David won the Toongabbie Masters Fours Championship in an all-star team of John Bezear (Merrylands), David Holt (Mt Lewis) and Shane Garvey (Engadine).
"Mat and Mick are both keen young bowlers and it was a pleasure to play with them," he said.
