Love wasn't only in the air yesterday as Dubbo's streets were literally throbbing with that good old-fashion lovin' feeling. On a splendid autumn day the inaugural 'I Love Dubbo' Day was a huge success. Civic patriots were on just about every corner, in every business house and every schoolyard proudly wearing their ‘I Love Dubbo' T-shirts. There was no doubt about it - the city's newest arrivals, our very own ‘I Love Dubbo' Day babies stole the most hearts. Showing the spirit of the day was Dubbo Tool Centre's Chris Cookson who generously outlaid a hefty $600 to snag an ‘I Love Dubbo' T-shirt signed by the legends of cricket during their visit to the city in March. Donated by the Daily Liberal and auctioned off on 2DU, Mr Cookson was thrilled to emerge victorious after a furious spate of bidding, with all proceeds going to Camp Quality. Dubbo City Development Corporation general manager Jeff Caldbeck was extremely happy with how the city rose to the occasion. "It was great to see so many people showing how proud they are of our city," Mr Caldbeck said.
