Dubbo RSL physical culture members have come away with pleasing results in the Central West Zone finals held at the Parkes PCYC. Girls and women from a number of regional clubs travelled to the event, vying for the opportunity to represent the zone at the national finals in Sydney. Throughout the weekend a strong sense of club spirit and friendship was evident among the group with parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and committee members travelling to cheer and support the club members. In addition to any medals or certificates received, each girl received a small gift as a reward for her efforts. The senior girls received a red rose, these being of special significance having been grown by Rayma Smith, the senior teacher for the Dubbo RSL physie club. During the two days of competition 26 members reached the finals and 10 members were ranked in the top five in the central western zone. Having achieved high placings in the zone finals, several members of the club will now be working on refining their routines in readiness for the national finals. Congratulations go to Tiffany Ingham, Breanna Smith, Madelien Harvey, Kaitlyn Rennie, Resharyn Cayford, Brianna Powe, Emily Whitla, Eryn Fraser, Elyce Poga and Raewyn Mallitt who through their placings have earned the right to progress to the next level. Of those listed Tiffany Ingham, Eryn Fraser and Raewyn Mallitt each achieved the highest award of the day - first place in their individual age divisions. Of particular note was Tiffany Ingham who is only five years of age and took out first place in her first zone finals competition.
