Playing off 25 handicap, Buck had 90 scratch for 65 nett and there's every chance he won't be playing off that mark again.
More importantly, Buck also walked away with the C grade Medal provided by Whitney's Jewellers and this outstanding score was a huge five shots in front of second-placed Rod Firth with 90-70.
For some reason most of the C grade field found the conditions not to their liking although Phillip Selman (71), Lou Doherty (72) along with Wayne Fell and John Bassingthwaighte had 73's which was the cut-off.

Adam Baldock pulled off a big win in B grade with his round of 81-67 and he was two in front of Reg Pipe (84-69).
Henry Jom and Matthew Hoyle (70) along with Simon Keough (71) played to their handicaps.

The A grade competition produced the best finish of the day with Wayne Woodbridge's 80-68 the best although Phil Munro played superb golf with a one-under-par scratch round of 70 for nett 69 but on this occasion had to be content with second place.
Then came Max Reid (70) and Michael Fraser, Graeme Ferguson, Dean Allchurch, Michael Wherritt and Luke Russell all with 71.

As one would expect Munro's 70 was best scratch in A grade while Baldock (81) and Buck (90) won the major grades - Buck beating Rod Firth on a countback.
As well, John Swan had an eagle-three on the par-5, first hole and Nathan Button picked up a voucher worth $110 by winning the pro pin on the sixth hole when his second shot finished 203cm from the hole.

The Dick North Junior Medal was another good contest on Saturday with Jake O'Brien returning to form with a two-over-par round of 73 for 70 nett.
Also in the mix were Matt Woodbridge (75-71) and Brant Mann (78-71).

Congratulations to Craig Mears who finished two shots off the pace and equal second in the $20,000 Cowra Pro-Am on the weekend.
He had identical five-under-par rounds of 66, which unfortunately wasn't good enough to run down Darren Beck (130).
Mears and his Dubbo syndicate also finished with a bonus by having purchased Beck in the calcutta.
Former Dubbo junior Brad McIntosh finished with 134 and Lucas Parsons (Orange) was on 137.
