Central West will field strong teams in the under-14s, 15s, 16s and 17s at NSW Country Championships following selection trials held at Wellington.
More than 150 junior rugby players from Cowra, Forbes. Parkes, Dubbo, Mudgee, Wellington, Molong and
Orange were involved in the trials.
In very hot conditions players took to the field under the watchful eyes of selectors and coaches before the squads of 22 players were announced.
The under-16s and 17s will play at Wyong on April 30 and May 1 while the under-14s and 15s will have the slight advantage of playing in their own zone on the following weekend in Dubbo.
All the selected players
will attend a training camp
at Lake Burrendong this weekend.
It will be a great opportunity for the squad members to get to know each other while being put through their paces by the sport and recreation department staff as well as their own team coaching staff.
