Gilgandra kicks off with 2001-2002 National Association of Speedway Racing Formula 500 Challenge. The challenge runs over numerous rounds at various speedways throughout NSW with two rounds already run at Sunfair Speedway and Grafton. The formula 500s take to the clay of Gilgandra with six cars leading the charge. There will be plenty of action. The ever popular and growing V8 Super Sedans will also be there to satisfy the V8 hungry crowd with fast and furious racing.
The junior division is growing with three drivers completing their training during the winter recess, making the junior driver division stronger all the time.
New to the scene will be the street saloons (stock standard version of the street stockers) and they should provide plenty of action for the first meeting of the season.
The Gilgandra club will be holding a full-season raffle for a ready-to-race Ford Falcon street saloon to be drawn at the final meeting of the season.
Also running is a Christmas raffle with the prizes a VCR, remote control car and car care package. So, if you want to take your family and enjoy a good night out, come to Gilgandra Speedway this Saturday night. Pit gates open at 3pm. Spectator gates open at 5pm. Racing starts 6pm.
