In the first match of the day PCYC’s white team lined up against the club’s red team in the Ray Boden Painters sponsored under-8 clash.
These young men train together during the week and relished the chance to show each other who was the better team. Both teams put in great performances with the reds coming out 30-20 winners.
Billy Hudson, Liam Caton, Jarrin Fernando and James West all played strongly for the red team while Dylan Dorin, Tjapukai Shaw, Teldon Nelson and Nathan Stevenson performed well for the white team.
The Western Plains Windows and Glass Under-9s continued on their unbeaten run with some great defence paving the way for a 17-0 victory over Westside.
Tom McGrath, EJ Fernando and Adam Anforth led the way in defence while Brad Moran, Stan Riley and Taylor Stevenson did well in attack.
The Village Hot Bake Under-10s also held Westside scoreless but had to work hard for their 19-0 win.
Tries were scored by Brad Spencer, Tarren Pomfret and Mark Sternbeck while Spencer, Pomfret and Tom McGrath kicked goals.
Jodan Edmed continued his good form and was well supported by Robert Braddy, Josh Adimari and Steve Harrison.
The Midstate Motor Park Under-12s scored their second win on the trot when they defeated Westside 25-20 in a well-disciplined display.
The Dragons showed great concentration for the whole match and are showing great improvement in every match they play.
Jeremy Smith displayed some smart thinking in scooting over for two tries from dummy half while Mat Hundy (2) and Aaron Dolling also crossed for tries. Blake Stevenson landed the sole conversion.
Aaron Wheatland, Steven Riley, Sam Croesse and Chris Hall also played well.
The Wendy Baker Solicitor sponsored under-14s had the bye.
The Subway encouragement awards this week went to Liam Caton, Brad Probert, James West, Robert Braddy and Tarren Pomfret.
