However the league star was represented by Bankstown law firm Thurlow and Fisher who told Dubbo District Civil Court that two personal injury claims brought against him by Bruce and Yvonne Hooper had been settled out of court.
Mr and Mrs Hooper were the managers of the Dubbo Palms Motel where the visiting South Sydney Rabbitohs were staying in February last year after a pre-season match in Dubbo.
A third matter brought against both O’Neill and the South Sydney Rugby League Club by motel owner Geoffrey Wall Ellis was stood over in the court list. However it believed the matter is unlikely to be finalised during this sitting of the court.
The civil suits arose after an early morning incident when O’Neill allegedly trashed his room after returning to the motel following a night out with his team-mates.
Police were called to investigate an incident in which human faeces were smeared on the hotel room walls. The incident attracted a $10,000 fine from the National Rugby League.
