A Dubbo boy who allegedly stole a car and led police on two dangerous pursuits when he was 17 years old has turned 18 while in police custody.

At 9.20am on Wednesday March 27, the boy was spotted by police and followed down Amy Lane in Dubbo.
While trying to evade police capture, the boy stumbled across a bus owned by the Clontarf Foundation, an organisation dedicated to helping Aboriginal young people participate meaningfully in society.
The vehicle was unattended for a short time when the boy allegedly got in it and drove off.
Dubbo police told the Daily Liberal they followed the boy, but he was driving so dangerously they had to end their pursuit of him.
Police spotted the boy driving again on Saturday March 30 and they engaged in another pursuit of him.
This time he was caught allegedly driving on the wrong side of Coborrah Road.
He was placed in custody the night before he turned 18 and remained there until he appeared in court.
His case is before Dubbo Children's Court.
