A thief or thieves have stolen firearms from a drover’s safe in the state’s north-west.

Police are appealing for public assistance to help them solve the crime.
On Friday night a 60-year-old man was sleeping in his truck on Bugilbone Road, Pilliga, when at some time during the night unknown persons forced entry into the rear of the vehicle and into the firearms safe, NSW Police said.
Firearms, ammunition, and other items were stolen.
The firearms are used for the 60-year-old man’s work as a drover, and were stored securely inside the truck, police said.
Officers from Central North Police District were notified, who attended and established a crime scene.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
