Orana Mid-Western Police District crime coordinator sergeant Jill Gibson said there were a number of items stolen from vehicles in central and south Dubbo.
“Windows have been smashed and a number of wallets have been left in vehicles and have been stolen,” she said.
“Police remind people to remove items from vehicles to stop would-be thieves, especially in the lead up to Christmas.”
Orana Mid-Western Police District police officers arrested 16 people in Dubbo over the weekend.
Sergeant Gibson said police proactivity demonstrated police were trying to locate the right people, at the right time, at the right places.
“Over the weekend 31 people were searched with a number of items of interest being located including drugs and prohibited weapons,” Sgt. Gibson said.
