Premier Berejiklian and Member for Dubbo Troy Grant marked the start of construction for the new three- storey clinical services building.
“This is a great short in the arm for people in Dubbo and the whole of the region to announce stage four,” Western local health district chief executive Scott McLachlan said.
“Today sees the evolution in a brand new emergency department, intensive care, a new cardiac specialist unit … a new renal unit and a range of support services for specialists in Dubbo.
“For Dubbo to become a hub of specialist care for the whole of the Western part of the state this is a huge step forward.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the clinical services building would change peoples lives forever.
“We know not just that it brings great health services and great jobs to the community but it also makes Dubbo and its surrounds more liveable; people want to move here and live here because they’ll know they have a world class healthy system right here in town.
“To have people not have to travel those long distances to get the specialist treatment they need but also to know that this regional hospital will be one of a kind, it will be worlds best practice.”
