The checkouts at the food store will go quiet after Monday July 2, before starting again on Thursday July 12, nine days later.
Aldi will then launch its “fresh new look” at Dubbo as nationally it continues to compete in Australia’s fiercely competitive $90 billion grocery sector.
Customers of the retailer, which opened a $4.25 million store at Dubbo in 2014, have received flyers about the temporary closure in recent weeks while shopping at the Talbragar Street site.
Aldi on Friday responded to the Daily Liberal’s inquiry about the temporary closure.
Its Dubbo store would continue to be supported by a team of 15 to 20 permanent full- and part-time employees, it reported.
Aldi’s revamp is to include “better product displays, improved navigation and modern styling”.
Many of the improvements have been implemented after extensive store trials and Aldi’s state-wide rollout of its modern store design in South Australia and Western Australia, the company reports.
While we’re delighted to be introducing these innovations, we want our customers to know they won’t lead to higher prices.

New features include re-designed shelving, expanded wooden produce bays, as well as extended energy-efficient chillers.
With energy management remaining a key priority for the company, the store has energy-efficient LED lighting, the spokesperson said.
There will also be “improved point-of-scale displays and store signage”.
“We’re excited to be undertaking these upgrades and welcome the community to visit our new store from Thursday July 12 and share their feedback about the store experience.”
The flyer distributed to customers advises them that Aldi stores at Parkes and Mudgee are open for their convenience in the interim period.
