The ‘Give A Boot’ Charity Day will be held at Dubbo PCYC, with the aim of enabling children to get involved with football and other sports.
The charity, which runs in collaboration with the NSW Police Force, was established a few years ago and gathers football boots, sports shoes, some casual shoes and a small amount of protective equipment/ clothing to give to kids who are in a situation where they can not play sport due to a lack of footwear.
The organisers see sport as a great way for kids to stay out of trouble and develop themselves to live a better life in their communities.
Members of the various local police forces are used to distribute the shoes to provide a community bonding opportunity.
The shoes range from very small children sizes, up to larger teenage sizings.
They are all used shoes, but we grade them into A and B grades according to their condition, with a lot of the A grade shoes look brand new.
Families from the region, as well as the Penrith Panthers, have been very kind with their donations.
‘Give A Boot’ will be located at Dubbo PCYC from 3.30pm on Friday, and for more information you can search for the organisation on Facebook.
