Duffy Elliott Lawyers hosted Cheese for Change on Thursday afternoon to raise funds for White Ribbon Australia’s domestic violence prevention campaign in schools, workplaces and the broader community.
The organisation’s new fundraiser encourages people to come together and share a cheese platter or cheesy food, and “help end men’s violence against women”.
“Over 12 months, on average, one woman is killed every week in Australia as a result of intimate partner violence,” said Jennifer Spear, a solicitor at the law firm.
“We want people to know that violence against women is everyone’s issue, and it is unacceptable.”
