In Dubbo as part of a regional tour on Tuesday, NSW Labor leader Luke Foley confirmed Cr Lawrence would again stand against Nationals MP Troy Grant at the NSW election, after running in the last state ballot in 2015.
Back then, Cr Lawrence attracted 10,939 formal votes (23.48 per cent), while Mr Grant received 28,165 formal votes (60.46 per cent).
On a two candidate preferred basis, Mr Grant claimed 70.42 per cent of the vote, while Cr Lawrence received 29.58 per cent.
Cr Lawrence announced his intention to seek preselection back in January, with Mr Grant announcing his intentions just hours later.
