Aboriginal communities in the Orana region have been urged to have their say at a workshop at Dubbo to discuss a draft bill on Aboriginal culture and heritage laws in NSW.

The workshop – to be held between 9am and 2.30pm on Friday at Taronga Western Plains Zoo – will discuss the consultation draft of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Bill 2018.
NSW Aboriginal Land Council chairman Roy Ah-See urged Aboriginal people to attend the workshop.
“Aboriginal people maintain the oldest living cultures in the world and the protection of our culture and heritage is vital to maintaining our culture,” he said.
“The NSW Aboriginal Land Council has been advocating for proper legal protections for our culture and heritage since the beginning of the land rights movement in 1977.
“It’s vital that Aboriginal people attend this workshop and have their say on the best ways to protect our culture and heritage.”
