Two Australian jazz stars are heading to Dubbo for one concert only this month.
Jazz vocalist Emma Pask, who’s performed for royalty and celebrities, will join forces with renowned pianist Matt McMahon for a memorable night of jazz at Macquarie Conservatorium on March 23.
“Jazz lovers, indeed all music lovers are in for a real treat at this concert – it really is not to be missed,” Macquarie Conservatorium director Vivienne Winther said.
Pask has performed all over the world for VIP audiences including the late Diana Princess of Wales and Princess Mary of Denmark, while her stint on “The Voice” took her talent to an even wider audience. In 2006, she performed the Bridal Waltz for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s wedding.
McMahon is the winner of both the Freedman Award and the National Jazz Award.
He leads his own groups and co-leads “Band of Five Names” with Phil Slater and Simon Barker.
As well as giving their Friday evening concert in Dubbo, the two jazz experts will generously pass on some of their specialist knowledge in a workshop for secondary school music students, held at the conservatorium on March 23 from 1.30pm-3.00pm.
“Both the concert and the workshop are wonderful opportunities for Dubbo’s music students and teachers to learn hands-on from these experienced performers,” Ms Winther.
Tickets for the jazz concert Emma Pask and Matt McMahon on March 23 at 7.30pm are on sale now at Macquarie Conservatorium and online at https://www.123tix.com.au/events/macquarieconservatorium
