The first performance for Anh Do’s The Happiest Refugee Live sold out in three days. Meanwhile the two Carl Barron – Drinking with a Fork shows sold out within 48 hours.
“I don’t recall seeing such a frenzy for comedy tickets,” DRTCC manager Linda Christof said.
“The social media video campaign we ran attracted 284 likes, 58 shares and 14,000 views over those few days. We are in discussions with the promoter to try and secure a third performance mid-year so fingers crossed we will have an available date to make it happen,” she said.
The Nutcracker presented by the Moscow Ballet has also sold out, while two of the three performances for Roald Dahl’s Georges Marvellous Medicine have no tickets left.
Ms Christof said she encouraged people to follow Dubbo Regional Theatre on Facebook to find out firt-hand when new shows and additional performances are listed as shows could sell out within days.
