School’s back. The shoes are shining, the lunchboxes are packed and the smiles are wide. 

The Daily Liberal’s annual Big Steps for Tiny Feet gallery features kindergarten students from around the Dubbo District during their first day’s at ‘big school’. 

Each year the Liberal visits all the schools in the area, photographing the newest students. In 2018 we have put together 70 wonderful photos of classes and individual students enjoying their first days of their next 13 year adventure. 

We’ve been taking photos of the students starting kindergarten for the past few years. If your child has started school in Dubbo between 2009 and 2017 chances are you’ll find them in these galleries. 

Before school started, and on the very first day of the term, our journalists spoke to a few students about how they were feeling starting the year. 

Dubbo South Primary student Eli Williams was excited to ‘make new friends and play with them heaps’, while it was double the fun for twins Angelina and Nikolaj Brdaric at Dubbo Christian School.
