The club has received so many books that by the end of this month it won’t be able to accept any more until May 25, when it sets up the 2018 Michael Egan Memorial Book Fair at Dubbo Showground.
“After nine years the community has embraced the annual book fair and has generously donated thousands of books for which we are very thankful,” book fair coordinator Peter Bartley said.
“But it is now presenting challenges in storing and handling the books.
“We need really large and strong cardboard cartons or wooden storage crates to easily store the books and reduce handling.

“If any businesses can donate any surplus stock to us we would be most appreciative.”
Mr Bartley said the club’s storage facilities were bursting at the seams.
“Despite having our own storage shed and being donated the use of another, we are now full up and won’t be able to accept any more books in advance from the public after the end of this month,” he said.
“People can still bring them down to our new venue at the Dubbo Showground on the day before the book fair but will need to hang onto them at home until then.”
The book fair will run from 8am to 4pm on Saturday, May 26, and from 9am to 1pm on Sunday, May 27.
Mr Bartley said all donated books would be on display at the fair’s new venue, Centenary Pavilion at Dubbo Showground, and a new pricing policy would be in place to make the books “even cheaper”.
“Our main aim is to promote reading and the enjoyment of holding a good hard copy book in your hands,” he said.
“We also want to raise funds for two special charities.”
Mr Bartley said all money raised at the book fair would be split evenly between the Dubbo Royal Flying Doctor Service Dubbo Support Group and cancer research at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney .
The club’s final working bee before the book fair will be held on Thursday, February 22 .
