There’s no doubt the South Dubbo players have plenty of fun each week but Adam Wells has called on his teammates to find a balance between that relaxed approach and consistent, disciplined cricket.

Wells described the Hornets’ performance last week as “flat”, the round clash resulting in a 68-run loss to Newtown.
A hallmark of South Dubbo cricket is the fun approach they bring to each match, with plenty of laughs and teasing of teammates a regular thing.
Wells doesn’t want to stop that at all, but he said there are some aspects of the game his side needs to work on.
“If we can just bat in partnerships and bowl one side of the wicket, cricket isn’t a complicated game,” he said.
Sometimes we need to find that balance and mix of a relaxed approach and playing good cricket.

“We keep it simple and all sides enjoy their cricket but we really enjoy ourselves together and sometimes we need to find that balance and mix of a relaxed approach and playing good cricket.”
Souths will need to play its best cricket this weekend against an RSL-Colts side which has now won three in a row and sits just two points outside the top three.
The defending premiers have found on top form in recent rounds and are close to full strength again, but Wells and Souths are eyeing off a streak of their own.
“There hasn’t been many seasons where they’ve missed finals and I’m sure they won’t want to miss this season,” he said.
“But also, I don’t think there’s been many times we have beaten Colts three times in a row. We’ve beaten them twice already this season and we’re looking to make it three.
“They’re back at full strength and got their key players back but we’re happy with our key players and we’re confident if we play our best cricket we should be right.”
The last time Colts downed Souths was in last season’s thrilling grand final clash.
Will Lindsay is one welcome return but its a player who did line up last week who Wells wants to see lift on Saturday.
Scott Tucker enjoyed a strong all-round season leading into Christmas but Wells labelled him “disappointing” in the loss to Newtown.
“We didn’t play as well as we should have," Wells said.
“Scott Tucker turned up injured so bit disappointed in his performance.”
Tucker got through just two overs against the Tigers but Wells is keen to see him perform well alongside frontline quicks Lindsay and the in-form Henry Railz as well as the left-arm spin of captain Mitch Bower.
Saturday’s one-day clash starts at 1pm.
