Nathan Munro’s men remain at the summit despite last round’s loss but there is now just nine points between first and fifth.
Rugby meets the bottom-placed CYMS at No. 3 Oval on Saturday but there’s no doubt Munro and his troops won’t read too much into the Cougars spot on the ladder.
CYMS is coming off a win over Macquarie and last time they met Rugby they scored a massive seven-wicket win and chased down a total of 8/274.
Further boosting the Cougars’ hopes is the fact Ben Strachan is again available while he is bringing brother Lachlan to Dubbo this weekend as well.
Lachlan Strachan last played for the Cougars in 2012/13, proving an effective outlet with both bat and ball and current CYMS captain Ben Knaggs will hopeful for an impact with both again on Saturday.
While the Cougars have plenty of firepower this weekend, so do Rugby with the NSW Country player Jordan Moran back in the fold.
Moran has only batted once for the ladder-leaders so far this season and returns to further boost a lineup featuring Munro, James O’Brien, Ben Patterson and young guns Ben Wheeler and Baye Wallace.
Play starts at 1pm on Saturday.
