Executive officer Megan Dixon said more than 30 per cent of the Jobs for NSW Fund had been set aside for regional businesses outside the metropolitan areas of Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.
Jobs for NSW, a state government agency, was established in 2015 to support businesses in generating jobs.
Regional NSW’s share of the fund is being used to “grow jobs, strengthen export capability, create new industry clusters and transform regional communities”.
Mrs Dixon is keen for Orana region residents to take advantage of the financial support. “This is good for NSW, for people thinking of a starting a business or businesses looking for financial support to grow,” she said.
“With this support, the business landscape in NSW has the potential to capture more of the lucrative export market, transform regional communities and promote entrepreneurship across the board.”
Mrs Dixon said grants and loans were available. “There is also an entrepreneurs program, research and development tax incentives, techvouchers and access to the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation,” she said.
