He is a former senior executive with the Intel Corporation, an American multinational corporation and technology company.
Mr Cronin worked for Intel for 18 years including a four-year stint from 2012 as director of Intel Asia-Pacific and Japan.
He has also worked as a technology adviser to the Australian government and was chairman and a board member of the Australian Information Industry Association from 2005 to 2012 .
Mr Cronin has served as a member of the NSW advisory panel to the Minister for Finance and Services on information and communications technology.
In his spare time he is a keen distance runner and triathlete.
Mr Cronin is among more than 100 Australia Day ambassadors assigned to local government areas across the state in 2018.
Australia Day Council of NSW chairman Angelos Frangopoulos has thanked the ambassadors for their involvement in the program.
“Australia Day ambassadors are from all walks of life and together they showcase the incredible community spirit we see every day here in NSW, but especially on Australia Day,” Mr Frangopoulos said.
The theme for this year’s Australia Day in NSW is Everyone, Every Story with the ambassador line-up including Olympians, Paralympians, figure skaters, fashion designers, actors, television presenters, community and business leaders.
The Australia Day ambassador at Wellington will be Terry O’Connell OAM.
The 2016 NSW Senior Australian of the Year finalist is known as the “cop from Wagga Wagga”.
Dubbo’s Australia Day celebrations will start at 7.30am at Victoria Park with a barbecue breakfast.
The official ceremony will begin at 8.30am. It will include addresses by mayor Ben Shields and Mr Cronin, a citizenship ceremony, presentation of the Australia Day awards and cutting of the Australia Day cake.
