Residents are being warned of four consecutive days with top temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or more from Friday.
The Bureau of Meteorology’s seven-day forecast as of Tuesday indicates the top temperature on Friday will be 41 degrees, Saturday 42 degrees, Sunday 41 degrees and Monday 40 degrees.
Residents of the city have been enjoying below-average temperatures since Saturday.
Bureau data collected since 1993 shows the average maximum and minimum temperatures in Dubbo during the month of January are 33.2 degrees and 18.2 degrees, respectively.
On Saturday residents enjoyed a maximum temperature of 30.3 degrees followed by a minimum temperature of 14 degrees and a maximum temperature of 26.8 degrees on Sunday. On Monday the temperature ranged from 11.6 degrees to 30.8 degrees. Tuesday morning delivered a pleasant 12.8 degrees.
Morning temperatures are on the rise. By Friday residents will wake to 18 degrees, followed by 20 degrees on Saturday, 21 degrees on Sunday and 23 degrees on Monday.
The highest maximum and minimum temperatures this month to date are 42.6 degrees and 26 degrees, recorded on January 7.
