Emergency services were called to the crash site on the corner of Palmer and Sapphire streets.
The woman was trapped in the car.
The crash made a gaping hole in the wall of the house.
Chief Inspector Jeff Boon, duty officer for Orana Mid Western Police District, said there had been a short pursuit at 1.35am after police saw a blue Mazda 6 but it was called off due to concerns about the manner of driving and speed.
A short time later, patrolling police found a car, which had hit and snapped a power pole, and then struck a house.
Residents in the area heard a loud bang and rushed to assist at the scene.
The driver was trapped and had to be released by the Dubbo Rescue Squad using tools to extricate her.
She was taken by ambulance to Dubbo Hospital with injuries to her lower legs, pelvis and internal injuries, Chief Inspector Boon said.
The occupant of the home was lucky to escape injuries.
“He was asleep about three metres from where the vehicle collided,” Chief Inspector Boon said.
The house was extensively damaged and the car was a write-off, he said.
Police were investigating the cause of the crash on Sunday.
