It was a morning of baking and decorating at Apollo House on Tuesday when it hosted a ‘Mini Master Chef’ challenge. Children had to bake and create cupcakes, which were then judged on their taste and look. Taylah Garlett was named as the winner of the challenge, with young judges Ben and Jamaine saying her cupcakes had “great texture” and “lots of colourfulness.”

It was Taylah’s use of M&M’s on the cupcakes which helped set her a part from the other competitors, thus taking home the win, the judges said.
The cooking challenge was part of Apollo House’s school holiday program.
