The Titan Macquarie Mud Run will be held on Saturday, March 24.
This year Commando Steve Willis, one of the former trainers on the Biggest Loser, will host warm-up sessions before the event, Titan Macquarie Mud Run Committee president Rod Fardell said.
“We’re in our fifth year now in the event itself and I thought that it was a really appropriate time to mix things up a little bit,” Mr Fardell said.
“Dubbo has really taken the event under their wings as an annual event.”
The mud run is a 10 kilometre course interspersed with obstacles, but Mr Fardell said it was designed to be suitable for a range of fitness levels.
“The idea of the event is to get out and have some fun. There are more difficult obstacles that will challenge them but most people of all fitness levels can take part. There’ll be some strain on the body but you’ll be so chocka blocka full of mud you don’t even realise, you’re just having fun,” he said.
There was also an emphasis on teamwork, Mr Fardell said.
The event is still 11 weeks away, but the organiser said the obstacles were already planned. Mr Fardell said he expected the kids’ course to be better and more popular than ever this year.
Registrations for the 2018 Titan Macquarie Mud Run are open. The earlybird price is available until the end of January.
